Chairman's Pitch - October 2018

The end of camping season fast approaches with the final weekend next week at Torksey, but don't be downhearted as we have our Christmas Party and the Dinner Dance to look forward to.

Bonfire and Halloween meet

Torksey

26th – 28th October

Our final meet of the season next weekend is at Torksey and one to sure end with a bang

On Friday evening there will be Trick or Treating for the Juniors around the caravans, suitably dressed up in your best Halloween costumes.

Can the juniors meet at the Juniors Youth Leaders caravans which will be near the children's play area for 7.30pm. We will also be judging for the best decorated caravan for Halloween, with prizes for the winning entrants.

The juniors will be helping to build the Guy on Saturday morning and we will also require help in building the Bonfire. Those that are willing to help, if we can get together near the fire area at 10.00am. Please wear suitable footwear clothing and a pair of gloves.

The Bonfire will be lit at 6.30pm where soup and a BBQ of burgers and sausages will be provided by the DA. After the bonfire we will continue into the hall for a social evening including a Halloween fancy dress competition open to all age with prizes for the decorated pumpkins, again open for all ages.

We would appreciate any donations of cans of soup as well as buns, parkin, toffee etc.

**IMPORTANT** As a point of safety Sheffield DA will provide the fireworks, can I ask that no other fireworks or sky lanterns be set off over the weekend.

Family Christmas Party

West Bretton Village Hall

Saturday 8th December 4.00pm to 9.00pm

This year we will be holding a Christmas Party for all the family. Fun and Games plus entertainment from Keith’s Party Magic, (4.30 to 5.30) and hopefully a visit from that certain someone.

The event starts at 4.00pm which gives those that would like to wander around the Yorkshire Sculpture Park plenty of time. There is no charge for the evening but we will be making the buffet an American Supper. Jean Holroyd will have a list of suggested items at the Torksey bonfire meet that will be helpful for the supper, please see Jean to put your name on the list.

Please let me know who will be bringing children (under 12) to the party, so we can help Santa plan to have enough presents in his sack. The bar will also be open for drinks in the village hall.
