Welcome to this early year update from Sheffield DA.
We kicked-off our 90th birthday year on 14th January with 21 members joining walk leader, Rob Lees, on the winter walk starting out from Grindleford station.
On the evening of Saturday 27th January we then switched on the style with our 2024 Dinner Dance at Hallowes Golf Club. A big thank you to everyone attending and to the organisers for making these events possible.
Winter Social
The next event to look forward, to is our winter social including pie & pea supper, at Eckington Civic Centre on Saturday 24th February. This event is free for Club members to attend with bookings and advance payment requested for food orders by Wednesday 14th February. Full details are on the booking listing below.
Fixtures 2024
The 2024 meets and holiday sites fixtures are already posted on the Sheffield DA website and news is published regularly, so keep checking back. Online booking for holiday sites is also now open via www.sheffieldda.co.uk/booking. You will notice that we have added a brand new spring bank holiday THS for 2024, at the popular Lees Meadow Farm, adjacent to the High Peak Trail near Middleton. We do not ask for advance payment nor a deposit for any of our THS, however booking is advisable to secure your pitch and allow us to provide you with updates.
Annual General Meeting
Please note and save the date for the AGM at Ashover on Saturday 13th April. This is scheduled for our meet at Ashover on 12th - 14th April. Last year, Sheffield DA enjoyed a strong committee and I'm sure we all extend our thanks to the committee members for their hard work. The AGM is far more than a formality; we are required to host a quorate meeting and elect a commitee, followed by officers. Also, the AGM is your opportunity to ask any questions and table suggestions to the executive. This meeting is a mandatory requirement so please don't assume it will just happen around you; please note the date and come along with your membership cards.
Easter 2024
Easter sees the DA back at beautiful Hutton Le Hole for a long weekend of family fun. Booking is not required and the meet will open at 3.00pm on Thursday 28th March.
90th Birthday Meet

July 19th - 22nd 2024 | Darley Dale
The final weekend of our early summer THS at Darley Dale has been selected as the venue for our 90th birthday meet where we will be offereing a packed family programme of birthday celebrations, food and live entertainment, including the popular Nottinghamshire band 'Breaking News'. This will be a 4-day meet, with the close extended to Monday 22nd July.

May Day Weekend
Osmaston | Friday 3rd - Monday 6th May
We will of course be returning to Osmaston once again for our popular May Day weekend, with the usual fun-filled programme of events. This will be a bookable meet, so keep your eyes open for announcements.
We will be organising a social calendar across the season with some of the usual favourites and a few surprises to ring the changes. Keep across the website and SDA social media for details.
