Thorpe sits on the Derbyshire and Staffordshire border occupying an enviably beautiful location due to it's proximity to some of the most dramatic scenery in the Peak District.  The list is endless but notably Thorpe Cloud is an iconic hill overlooking Dovedale and a moderate walk takes the visitor to the peaceful Manifold Valley.  A visit to this area is a must for any bucket list.

Things to do...

The White Peak is rich and varied area providing a range of activities and attractions.  Thorpe offers easy access to the Tissington trail, a gentle former railway track providing safe off-road recreational trails for cyclists and walkers. Ten minutes drive away lies the market town of Ashbourne, with Buxton just thirty minutes drive up the A515. The tourist hotspots of Ilam and Dovedale are within walking distance and the beautiful Manifold Valley sits to the West, making Thorpe a great base to explore this beautiful area on foot, by bicycle or by car.

Location

Thorpe is a small Derbyshire village village in the White Peak area of the Peak District National Park, adjacent to the A515 about 10 minutes from Ashbourne and 30 minutes from Buxton.
