Glutton Bridge, Near Longnor, Peak District National Park.
DA camping offers us opportunities to wake up to stunning views in our most protected open spaces and nowhere is this more true than Sheffield DA's meet at Dowell Hall Farm.
Nestling directly between two iconic hill formations in the Peak District, Chrome Hill and Parkhouse Hill provide superb views of the surrounding Peak District countryside and are amongst the most photographed locations in the County.
Lovers of the great outdoors will be in their element around Longnor, this is walking country and ideally situated for the Upper Dove and Manifold Valleys as they traverse the Derbyshire and Staffordshire border.  Chrome and Packhorse hills provide superb views of the surrounding countryside and are the subject for many landscape photographers.
Nearby Earl Sterndale is an unspoilt upland village and home of the 400 year old and steadfastly traditional (alkthough sadly temporarily closed) Quiet Woman pub, which takes it's name from the local legend that the landlord and husband of a woman nicknamed 'Chattering Charteris', took rather radical action to stop his wife's incessant nagging by relieving her of her head! Aside from the macabre legends, Earl Sterndale is a popular base to ascend Hitter Hill, another location from which to take in the spectacular vista.
This meet was featured in the Camping and Caravanning Club magazine, 'Wish You Were Here" August 2019.
Despite it's rural remoteness, Longnor is just 6 miles from the famous Roman spa town of Buxton with it's many attractions for day visitors.
