Annual Boules & Cheese and Wine Extravaganza
What a fabulous weekend at Sunnyside Farm, Tansley, where the Sheffield DA spirit was well and truly alive with sunshine, laughter, and a great dose of friendly competition.
Our Annual Boules Competition drew quite the crowd, with cheers ringing out across the field as teams battled it out for the coveted title. A huge congratulations to this year’s champions, Liz & David, who bowled their way to victory with flair and finesse. Our junior competition was equally thrilling, and we’re delighted to announce Thomas as our well-deserved winner – fantastic playing!
As the sun began to dip, our legendary Cheese & Wine Evening took centre stage, transforming the meet into a relaxed and sociable night filled with delicious flavours, great music, and plenty of laughs. This year’s entertainment took a competitive turn too, and it was Andrew & Trisha who stole the show and claimed the prize for the best performance of the night!
The kids found that getting creative with a big pile of straw was great fun: gathring it all up, building piles and then taking a running dives though it - who needs screens after all!
Special thanks go to our site stewards, Dave & Abigail, for their warm welcome and for making sure the weekend ran smoothly from start to finish. Behind the scenes, our organising committee put in a tremendous effort to make this meet such a success, with a particular shoutout to Liz for not only winning at boules but also curating an excellent cheese selection and preparing the wine for everyone to enjoy.
Finally, a huge thank you to our evening compère, Phil, who kept the crowd entertained with his usual charm and humour – we couldn’t do it without you!
From fun on the field to good food and good company, this was Sheffield DA at its very best. Here’s to many more weekends like this one. See you at the next meet!
