5th – 7th October – Marton Gate Burton – Feast of Lanterns

Our FoL will be held this year at Marton Gate Burton nr Gainsborough. The theme will be “Book Comics and magazines”. I believe the theme gives a broad range to choose from, so please put on your thinking caps for a good night of memorable displays or even enter the spirit with just a few fairy lights to add to the occasion. Afterwards we can celebrate with a social in the village Hall on site.

Travel notice: Road closure for resurfacing until 6.00pm at Laugherton between Dunham Bridge and Torksey, so receommended alternative route is via Gainsborough.

CCJ (0-11) and CCY (12-21) section will be ‘open’ subject, unlimited entries.

26th – 28th October - Torksey – Halloween and Bonfire Meet

Join us for our final meet of the season here at Torksey Polish Scout camp. On Friday evening there will be Trick and Treating for the Juniors around the caravans. We will also be judging for the best decorated caravan for Halloween, with prizes for the winning entrants.

The Bonfire will be lit at 6.30pm where soup and a BBQ of burgers and sausages will be provided by the DA. After the fire we will continue into the hall with a social evening. A Halloween fancy dress competition will be held . Plus prizes for the decorated pumpkins again open for all ages. We would appreciate any donations of cans for the soup as well as buns, parkin, toffee etc.

As a point of safety Sheffield DA will provide the fireworks, can I ask that no other fireworks or sky lanterns be set off over the weekend.
