About the Event
Deep Dale can be accessed directly from the site: a steep sided dry ravine with limestone crags and stone filled valley bottom. Look out for the cave which was inhabited as far 1,000 years ago and likely to prehistoric times. The dale is a site of Special Scientific Interest (SSSI) , rich in flora and fauna including Cowslip flowers and Purple Orchids. Further up Deep Dale as it leads into Horsehoe Dale you will find the Priest’s Way. In centuries past, prior to roads as we know them, the Priest's Way was a safe connection to Chelmorton for the priests to visit their parishes to the east of Buxton.
