Sherwood Forest

Ancient woodland and stomping ground of the legendary Robin Hood

About

Sherwood Forest describes an area of north Nottinghamshire perhaps most famously associated with the legend of Robin Hood.  More specifically however Sherwood Forest today centres around a 450 acre country park and wildlife conservation area that attracts visitors from far and wide.

Things to do...

In and round Sherwood Forest there is a wide range of activities to meet most needs.  The ancient woodland is home to the legendary home of Robin Hood, the 900 year old Major Oak, which the visitor can view whilst strolling around the peaceful environment.  The more energetic might choose to cycle the many off-road trails in Sherwood Pines and the thrill-seekers can tackle the mighty Kitchener Trail.  For those less physically inclined, 2018 sees the opening of a brand new visitor centre with exhibitions and information about this important SSSI (Site of Special Scientic Interest).

Location

Sherwood Forest Holiday Park is located near Clipstone, Nottinghamshire.
