Shepley

About

Shepley village is mentioned in the Domesday book, 1086, although there is evidence of settlement prior to this date.  The village industry was primarily farming, developing into wool from the 14th Century.  Since 1996 Shepley has established a major natural spring water bottling operation, Shelpey Spring.

Things to do...

Shepley lies in rolling West Yorkshire countryside and offers pleasant walking.  The popular village of Homfirth is a short drive away where visitors like to discover locations used over the 31 series of BBC TV sitcom Last of the Summer Wine.  

Location

Shepley is 8 miles south east of Huddersfield and 6 miles to the north west of Penistone.
