Parwich 2019: boules masters

Nestling in the heart of the Peak District the beautiful remote village of Parwich was the venue for Sheffield DA's tenth Meet of the year where eighteen units pitched up on the lovely Parish fields and were rewarded with forecast-defying weather for our annual Boules competition.

An on-form Bonfield-Wilmot combo took the Boules trophy - Iain and Rachael securing top-spot in a keenly fought contest; Rach chalking up her second successive title. Lewis M ran away with the junior prize for the 4th consecutive year and his 6th overall title! The traditional wooden spoon 'honours' for 2019 went to Lesley and Chris and all awards were presented at coffee 'morning' as the sun set on a good Saturday.

Sunday morning brought a glimpse of sunshine for the start of the family walk, with a contingent of a dozen or so setting-off on a pleasant 4.5m circular trek traversing hill and valley to the popular village of Tissington with the promise of a refuelling stop for the excellent Hope Valley ice cream and taking a step back in time at the famous Edward's Vintage Sweet Emporium, before returning to Parwich via the Tissington trail.
