Parsley Hay is described as a Hamlet, a cluster of houses, served by a now disused railway station on the Cromford and High-Peak Railway, which itself closed in 1967. Today the former station is a cycle hire centre on the Tissington Trail overlooking

Off-road walking and cycling are clear favourites, via the Tissington Trail, which forks into the High-Peak trail about 1 mile south of Parsley Hay. The important prehistoric site of Arbor Low is only 1 mile away, a major sacred Neolithic site still preserved today by English Heritage. Nearby Monyash boasts The Bull’s Head – a popular pub with a reputation for good food.
