Peaceful site situated just 3 miles from the world famous Major Oak in Sherwood Forest, home to the legend of Robin Hood and his Merry Men. It’s also close to walks and cycle ways through the forest.  In and round Sherwood Forest there is a wide range of activities to meet most needs.  The ancient woodland is home to the legendary home of Robin Hood, the 900 year old Major Oak, which the visitor can view whilst strolling around the peaceful environment.  The more energetic might choose to cycle the many off-road trails in Sherwood Pines and the thrill-seekers can tackle the mighty Kitchener Trail.  For those less physically inclined, a visitor centre with exhibitions and information about this important SSSI (Site of Special Scientic Interest).  At Sherwood Forest Steam Railway, families can enjoy a ride on a narrow gauge steam railway, open in 2020 with individual compartments sanitised after each journey, a large play area, cafe and shop.
