About the Event

The village of Brackenfield and it’s population of just over 200 sits close to Ogston Reservoir, constructed in 1958 by damming the River Amber.  Home to the sailing club that bears it’s name, Ogston was where the famous sailor, Dame Ellen McArthur learned her craft.  The reservoir is a popular bird watching location although it was originally built to support local industry but now serves as a holding facility for the larger Carsington Water.
