Bishopthorpe is a small village with a rural feel situated close to the River Ouse and within easy reach of York.  The village is home to a small group of shops and pubs. Bishopthorpe Palace is the official residence of the Archbishop of York.

Things to do...

Historic York has a host of tourist attractions including Jorvik, Cliffords Tower, York Dungeon, York Minster, National Railway Museum, York Racecourse.  The visitor can also walk the historic walls and take in the historic centre including The Shambles with it's famous timbered overhanging buildings dating back the the 14th Century. Other attractions nearby include Eden Camp at Malton, a British military and social history from 1914 onwards.

Location

Bishopthorpe is located just off the A64 close to York Racecource and within walking distance of the River Ouse.
