Crich, Moor Edge Farm


Mooredge Farm, which is ideally located for a (vertical) stroll to Crich Stand for magnificent views of the surrounding Derbyshire countryside and a pause for contemplation at this Regimental Memorial, dedicated to the fallen of the Mercian Regiment. Also on the doorstep is a day of nostalgia at the Tramway Village. Just along the A6 towards Belper, another interesting visitor attraction is well worth considering; the Great British Car Journey will bring back memories of classic British motoring.

Directions (from A6/Out & About)

Take A6 north from derby. Approximately 2m from Ambergate, turn Right onto B5035 signposted Crich, South Wingfield. Follow signs to tramway museum. Go through Crich and go along B5035, memorial on left, bear right towards Alfreton, in about 0.5m, turn left into Moor Edge Road, site on Left in approximately 0.25m.

Note: this route involves a tight right turn from A6 northbound and a narrow road section on B5035

Directions from A38 (Alfreton)

Take junction for Alfreton, heading A61 north bound. Stay in left lane and take filter left A615 SP Matlock. At mini-roundabout, take the 1st exit onto Wingfield Rd/A615. After 1.1 mi at traffic lights, turn left onto B6013 and then immediately right onto Holme Ln/B5035 SP Crich. Continue on B5035. After 2.5 miles, turn right onto Mooredge Rd. Site on left after 0.5 miles. Follow SDA signs. This route includes a 12' height restriction.
